Early Period (Before 19th Century and Early 19th)     Bukhara region     163 x 271 cm

Taking the composition, ornaments, measurement, colours, and structures of the Large medallion Suzanis into account, they constitute a heterogeneous group of embroideries. Because of this, for Michael Franses in his monograph “The Great Embroideries of Bukhara”, they are divided into different types of patterns. The most important and common characteristic of the Large medallion suzanis is their expressive form of appearance, aroused through the force of the patterns and the strong colours. This one is under the D pattern group of Franses and published for the first time here. With slight traces of oldness and usage, generally in a very good state.
