Early Period (Before 19th Century and Early 19th)     Bukhara region     190 x 217 cm

A Bokhara silk embroidery composed of five panels. Both the field and border display the same design of large circular poppy blossoms linked by green twigs of varying length and orientation, which intersect to produce a complex network. They are decorated with flowers and leaves. Only a few examples of this design are known. Backed with beige fabric. Several small holes and stains.
