This rare Tashkent Suzani presents an amazing contrast between the field and the border. The eye-catching design of the field consists of six large, circular paliak motifs, mostly pale lilac in ground colour and surrounded by bold, dark green vines. The same vines form large crosses in the spaces between the circles. The delicate style of drawing seen in the border is quite unlike the field, and its light and transparent shades appear to belong to another world. Its design features circular poppy blossoms, each surrounded by two sickle leaves and linked by graceful stems. – Slight signs of age and wear, several small stains, no fabric backing.
